The U.S. Constitution Will Pass Away – God’s Word Will Not[/caption] Hi, Westboro Baptist Church. I’m working on a project to subject the Constitution of the United States of America to the scriptures to provide for more Christian liberty, and encourage the people and government to obey God. If you would like to have a look at it, and comment or make suggestions, please let me know. Thanks. Edward Good morning, Edward – I don’t see value in this as a thing to spend time on. That Constitution was put in place by the Lord our God and it has served us perfectly to preach this Gospel. In thinking on what to spend our time on, I love these verses and the context thereof.
Matthew 8:22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.
Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
We preach to the walking dead and every work of this earth will melt in a fervent heat. What will remain is every last Word of God till it all be fulfilled. As the children of Israel were wandering 40 years, waiting, as every soul from 20 years and up perished (except for Joshua and Caleb) — so much death and sorrow — Moses wrote Psalm 90. He knew that was the path that the Lord their God ordered at that hour and this nation is doubtless on a similar path, but, to destruction. There will be no constitutional fix.
Psalm 90:7 ¶ For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled. 8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. 9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. 11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath. 12 ¶ So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
