Dear WBC,
I was watching a lecture in which the orator claimed that the Bible was incorrect by claiming that Adam was approximately born 4,800 years ago, but that this contradicts with the fossil of a man that was more than 4,800 years old. Please can you explain this?
I look forward to your response.
Kind regards,
Chad
Hello Chad –
“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.” (1 Timothy 6:20)
“For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.” (Romans 3:3-4)
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” (Deuteronomy 29:29)
Also, Adam was formed – not born.
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7
“For Adam was first formed, then Eve.” 1 Timothy 2:13
Thanks for asking.
