Westboro Baptist Church members were early-adopters in the life of Vine to augment our multi-decade street preaching. We doggedly persisted for these past 3 years and today have 15,000+ followers and 74 million loops. We celebrated Vine’s first birthday with a logo-decorated cake: https://vine.co/v/MBxdQB0nbvp. We promoted Vine’s use in one of our WBC Video News: https://youtu.be/74YHnSTYU9I. We protested Vine’s headquarters in New York City: https://vine.co/v/OzFtg9gYL0w. We wrote a parody of “I Saw The Sign” by Ace of Base and called it “I Learned To Vine”: http://tiny.cc/ISawThSignPrdy. Several of our vines have gone viral on international media outlets and many have written articles about our quality vine account. And so, with heavy boots and a sad heart, we do not look forward to the end of Vine. Alas, it was so young with so much promise. We protest Vine’s funeral!
Why? We dread the day when preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ is no more:
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:” Amos 8:11.
We plead with Twitter to be good stewards of its resources and sustain Vine, if for no other purpose than to allow Bible truth to be dispersed thereby.
Here are a few compilations of our vines, for your edification and amusement:
And here is a sampling of articles written about WBC’s Vine account:
Thank you for your sympathy in our current distress!
