Here is my question: As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good (Ezekiel 16:48-50).
These verses speak of the sins the inhabitants of Sodom committed, such as pride, gluttony and greed. But why does it not speak of their lust?
Dear Lisa –
Answer: it does! Please follow this track:
“…and committed abomination before me: …” (Ezekiel 16:50)
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.” (Leviticus 18:22)
Add this – “before me” means – RIGHT IN GOD’S FACE!! Loud and proud!
All of that works perfectly with Jude 7: “Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
Thanks for asking.
